Mushrooms

Walking to the Metro the other day, I passed these growing in the park. I understand from those who know more than me (and you know who you are) that they are probably poisonous. But they sure are pretty.

Store Launch

I have posted two new patterns in my Ravelry Store. The first is a revision of Grace Note Socks, called Grace Note Socks Version 2.
The pattern should be a bit easier to use. It can be found here.
The second is a new pattern, His (and Hers) Basic Socks. It is an easy sock pattern that can be knit anywhere. No fancy stitches and it adjusts to almost any size. It can be found here.

What to do with too many lentils

This is what you do, make lentil pate. Tasty, low-fat, and good on pita bread. The secret ingredient is maple syrup.

Shenandoah Fiber Festival

This is a lovely, modestly sized festival. We went today and of course, I forgot a camera. However, there were sheep, goats, llamas, and alpaca. Tasty lamb sausage too. I petted a lot of yarn, but restrained myself to some fiber (for felting).

I also wanted to take this braided rug course but could not figure out how to find the time.
On the knitting front there are several projects in underway,.
First, a pair of Pippi Longstocking like socks.
Next, the Shirley sweater from Snowden Becker. I am doing this in Shetland Laceweight and it slow going.
Finally, I have charted this scarf for knitting. We saw it in a store. I struggled with the bobbles a bit, but think I have them.

Blogging?

In considering whether or not blog, one has to consider if one has anything to say. This blog has lacked things to say. So starting today, I am making a blogging "new year" resolution. A post at least every other day. With pictures (no pictures for this one as I am at the airport)

Trees fall down

Here are the trees. They fell this morning, with one bringing down the other. What a mess. Luckily-no damage to the house or to anyone. They will be cleared away on Tuesday.
